Dental Implant Specialist in Gurgaon

The clinical team at Artistree Dental and Cosmetic Clinic, Gurgaon

Anyone looking for a dental implant specialist in Gurgaon will find plenty of dentists using the word. It helps to know what lies behind it. Implantology is not a separate MDS branch in India, so "implantologist" on its own tells you little. The better question is what postgraduate training the person has, and whether that training covers both halves of the job: the surgery in the bone and the tooth that sits on top.

Two skills, one result

An implant has to survive in the jaw and also look and bite like a tooth. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons train in the first part: bone, nerves, sinuses and grafting. Prosthodontists train in the second: how the final teeth meet, carry load and sit in your face. Good implant work starts from where the final tooth needs to be, and places the implant to suit it.

Six questions for any implant clinic

  1. Who will plan my case, who will place the implant, and what is each person's postgraduate degree?
  2. What imaging will you use to check the bone and nearby nerves?
  3. Which implant system do you recommend for me, and why?
  4. What happens if there is less bone than expected?
  5. Will I have teeth during healing?
  6. What are the alternatives, including a bridge, a denture, or leaving the gap?

A clinic that takes implants seriously will answer these without hesitation. Be careful if you are given a treatment date before anyone has examined you.

Who does what at Artistree Dental

  • Dr Shveta Setia Thareja is an MDS prosthodontist and implantologist, with her postgraduate degree from SGT University. She is a member of the Indian Prosthodontic Society and an invited speaker at international dental conferences. Full-mouth rehabilitation and implant-supported teeth are her field.
  • Dr Ankush Mahajan is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who trained at Government Dental College, Bangalore. His work includes bone grafting and implant placement.
  • Dr Athreya Rajagopal is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a certified implantologist.

Because they work in the same clinic, a difficult case can be discussed across disciplines without you carrying files between practices.

When a specialist matters most

A straightforward single tooth with good bone is a very different job from a full arch, a case with little bone, or a mouth that has already had failed work. If yours is one of the harder ones, bring whatever records you have. To meet the implant team at Artistree Dental in Sector 51, call +91 92053 01454 or message the clinic on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Is a prosthodontist or an oral surgeon better for implants?

They cover different halves of the work. A prosthodontist is trained in the final teeth and the bite, and an oral surgeon in the bone and surgery. Complex cases benefit from both.

Can you look at an implant placed somewhere else?

Yes. Bring any X-rays and records you have, including the implant details if you know them, and the doctor will assess it.

Can I get a second opinion on an implant plan?

Yes. Bring the plan and any scans. A second look is sensible before a large course of treatment.

Do you do full-arch implants?

Yes. The clinic provides All-on-4 and All-on-6 full-arch treatment, planned by the prosthodontist with the surgical team.
