Dental Implants in Sector 51, Gurgaon

Treatment room at Artistree Dental and Cosmetic Clinic, Sector 51, where dental implants are planned and placed

Getting dental implants in Sector 51, Gurgaon is not a single appointment. It is a series of visits spread over months, which is why the practical details of a clinic matter as much as the implant itself. Artistree Dental and Cosmetic Clinic is in Mayfield Garden, near Baani Square, and it opens every day of the week, so those visits can be arranged around work and family instead of the other way round.

What the visits look like

  1. Assessment. The doctor examines the gap, your gums and your bite, and takes the imaging needed to see how much bone is available.
  2. Your plan. You get a written treatment plan that sets out the sequence, so you know what comes next before anything starts.
  3. Placement. The implant is placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic. Most people describe pressure more than pain, and some soreness for a few days afterwards.
  4. Healing. The bone grows around the implant. This usually takes a few months and cannot be rushed, because it is what makes the implant stable.
  5. The final tooth. Once the implant is firm, the crown, bridge or denture is made and fitted to your bite.
  6. Review. Check-ups continue after that. An implant cannot decay, but the gum and bone around it can still become inflamed.

If the bone is thin

Bone shrinks after a tooth has been missing for a while, so some patients need a bone graft before or during placement. That adds time, not necessarily difficulty. Dr Ankush Mahajan, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the clinic, carries out bone grafting, so this does not mean being sent to another practice.

One tooth, several, or a full arch

Implants can replace a single tooth, support a bridge across several gaps, or hold a whole arch of fixed teeth on All-on-4 or All-on-6. The clinic also makes complete dentures, which is worth knowing, because implants are not the right answer for every mouth and you should hear the alternatives. Dr Shveta Setia Thareja, MDS Prosthodontics, leads this work and plans the final teeth together with the surgery.

Before you come in

Bring any recent X-rays, a list of your medicines, and details of conditions such as diabetes. Smoking slows healing, so tell the doctor if you smoke. The clinic is at Shop No 2, B Block, Pocket C, Mayfield Garden, Sector 51, and is open 9am to 8:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:30am to 4pm on Sunday. Frequently asked questions

How many visits does an implant need?

Several, spread over a few months, because the bone has to heal around the implant before the final tooth goes on. Your plan will show the sequence for your case.

Can I go without a tooth during healing?

Usually not, if the gap shows. The doctor can discuss a temporary option while the implant heals.

Am I too old for an implant?

Age alone rarely rules it out. Bone, gum health and general health decide it, and these are checked at the assessment.

How do I look after an implant?

Brush and clean around it as you would a natural tooth, and keep your check-ups, because the gum around an implant still needs care.
